Michael Nuvallie

Michael Nuvallie joined the agency in 1985 that was started by his father, Joseph A. Nuvallie, in 1972. Michael took over operations as broker/owner in 1992, and has expanded operations in VT and NY, as well as being an approved registered broker for both HUD and Fannie-Mae foreclosures. A true independent agency, services are offered to both sellers and buyers. He is also MA certified to teach real estate courses, as well as a member of the Berkshire County Board of Realtors.

    He retired at the end of June 2025 while working full time since 1987 for City of North Adams, MA as the Director of Community Development. There he wrote and managed a substantial amount of grant applications to federal, state and other agencies to secure grant funds for a myriad of public real estate development projects. Highlighted projects included roadway, sidewalk and water main improvements, demolition of blighted buildings, housing rehabilitation and lead abatement programs, park and recreational development at the premiere Noel Field Athletic Complex, the Alcombright Athletic Complex, the rejuvenation of the Brayton Hill Park and Windsor Lake, substantial improvements to the Veterans Memorial Skating Rink, Senior Center, and the adaptive reuse of the former Amory into a new youth facility. The city's first-ever splash pad and skateboard park were also two of his key projects.

    A plethora of studies centered on economic development, housing, historic preservation, and the updating of key planning studies also fell under his tutelage. He represented the city on the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission's Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), Comprehensive Economic Development Study (CEDS), and its Berkshire Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund. He also served on the Board of Directors, and later on the Supervisory Committee, of the North Adams Municipal Employees Credit Union, as well as the Northern Berkshire Solid Waste District. He still currently serves on the North Adams Retirement Board, and has been the city's Fair Housing Officer since 1987, as well as being a Notary Public. Previously he worked two years at the Adams Housing Authority managing its housing rehab program. He also served as adjunct faculty at Southern Vermont College in Bennington teaching introductory courses in Micro and Macro-Economics. He also currently owns a niche a housing/community/economic development consulting business, "Community Building Blocking--Helping Folks Build Brighter Futures" since 1988.

    He has a Bachelors of Business Administration degree with a major in Real Estate & Urban Development, as well as a minor in Economics, from UMass at Amherst, 1984. In 2002, he obtained a professional executive certification in Housing & Community Development from the University of Maryland at College Park. He also received training in asbestos under the AHERA for school buildings in 1988 from Tufts University in Medford, MA.
